Rhowen Yoki

Owner of young fashion indie Fusion, which has four stores in Cornwall

Brands include G-Star, Gio-Goi, Levi’s, Motel, Saint Tropez

How is trade at the moment?

Trade for us is highly seasonal as we are in the West Country. It’s been quite buoyant for the past month and we were up 25% in both January and February.

Why do you think sales are up?

We’ve kept a lot of the prices reasonable. It keeps it more accessible to the younger market.

Are you doing anything different with your budget for spring 11?

We’re splitting it 50/50 between in-season buying and forward order. It has allowed us to keep up with the things people are seeing in the magazines and we are able to compete with the high street.

Which brands are doing well?

Motel does well for us, as does Saint Tropez, as it offers great layering pieces. We also introduced G-Star last year and it has already built up a following in the area.

How are you feeling about the year ahead?

I’m very optimistic. We are about to launch our website in two to three weeks. We’re starting off with our big brands and seeing how they go.
