Vote for your most inspiring indies

Drapers and London trade show Pure have this week kicked off a hunt for the UK and Republic of Ireland’s most exciting and innovative fashion indies as nominated by you, our readers.

In February, Drapers and Pure will publish a supplement entitled Inspiring Independents, which will profile and champion the country’s best-in-class boutiques, but we need your help to generate our shortlist.

We want to hear about the fashion indies you admire and why they impress you. It could be their interesting brand mix, an innovative approach to marketing, exceptional customer service or high profits that have won these businesses respect.

They can operate in womenswear, menswear, young fashion, kidswear, lingerie, footwear and accessories or, indeed, stock a mixture of all categories. You can even nominate your own store, though votes will only be counted once.

The only proviso is that nominated indies must have fewer than 11 stores and they must be a multi-brand retailer with a bricks-and-mortar operation.

On December 3 we will compile a shortlist of the 50 most nominated independents. Once we have drawn down the 50 indie retailers with the highest number of nominations, we will contact those 50 indies and ask them to rank their favourite five peers. We will use this information to rank the final 50 in order of popularity.

The ranked list and each indie’s final position in the top 50 will be unveiled on the opening evening of Pure and Pure Spirit on February 13 at an exclusive party held in a top London venue. It is a strictly invitation-only event. The supplement will be published with Drapers’ February 18 issue.

  • Is this an annual feature? We were too late to vote this year so would be great to know if you plan on doing the same feature this year? And roughly when you will start the voting?
