Womenswear indie to launch second store

Womenswear indie Pookie will today launch a second store in Harrogate building on the success of the first shop.

The retailer, which sells brands including Fran and Jane, Vero Moda, Saint Tropez, Masai Clothing, Vila, Fever, and Nissa, will open the new store on Cheltenham Crescent in Harrogate.

The first Pookie store opened in Silkstone, South Yorkshire in 2006 and in September founder Rose Horsfield launched an own label, Pookie, which is a dress collection made in Britain.

Horsfield said: “At Pookie we believe in offering quality and value for money – whilst supporting the local economy, by providing employment in the design and manufacture of our own brand.”
