LK Bennett

Stretching its price points in an attempt to cross the boundary to the luxury market

Product 6

LK Bennett has gone for luxe toned-down versions of some of this season’s trends, delivering over-the-knee boots in beautiful top-quality suede and snakeskin. Other notable styles are patent over-strapped purple shoe boots, purple satin and suede evening shoes and courts with metal toe caps and heel tips. LK Bennett is less about fashion and more about style and quality this season, which is not a bad thing given that this customer is unlikely to be seen dead in a biker boot.

Experience 6

This is a new shopfit for LK Bennett, which is significantly different to other stores and borrows heavily from luxury brands. Carpeted areas give it a point of difference but there are lots of high-level shelving units which obscure views to the back of the store. On the other hand, these are handy for zoning product by colour or trend story.

Value 5

This feels like a retailer finding its way through a repositioning, with price points spanning too broad a spectrum. The metal-tipped courts seem cheap at £155 but over-the-knee boots come in at a whopping £495. The quality is there but this shopper may take time to accept these new price points.
