Bonmarché launches transactional website

Bonmarché, the mature womenswear retailer, will launch a transactional website on April 6.

The 387-store retailer, which is part of the Peacocks Group which also includes the eponymous fast fashion chain, will sell clothing in sizes 12 to 24, footwear and accessories and its David Emanuel range – available in sizes 10 to 22 – from the site at

The site delivers to customers in the UK, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man within 5 to 7 days with posting and packing charge of £3.95.

Richard Kirk, chief executive of Peacocks Group, which bought the business in 2002, said: “The launch of the transactional website is yet another string to our bow, and we’re really excited and confident about what the future has in store for the brand. The site has been developed for easy use and we hope it will ensure our customers have another way to pick up their must-have Bonmarché pieces at the push of a button”.

Bonmarche suffered a difficult year in the 12 months to March 28 2009, after it had to discount following a poor summer. However, Kirk said last month that the Peacocks Group had “never felt more confident” about its prospects.
