Brooks Brothers appoints new vice president

US retailer Brooks Brothers has appointed Matteo Del Vecchio to the newly-created position of vice-president, strategy and corporate development.

Del Vecchio will be responsible for leading business development projects across areas including finance, technology, wholesale and manufacturing. Del Vecchio started in his role on May 11 at the company’s head office in New York.

He was previously at investment banking firm Goldman Sachs & Co where he was most recently vice-president in the investment banking division. Prior to that he was a business analyst at management consulting firm McKinsey & Company.

Diane Ellis, president and chief operating officer of Brooks Brothers, said: “Matteo brings a wealth of experience to this position. His background in business development will benefit us tremendously as we position the company for significant growth.”
