Easter boom for Peacocks kidswear

Kidswear sales at value chain Peacocks were at their highest in over a decade - soaring 250% - over the Easter weekend as mums decided to treat their kids.

Sales of boys’ shorts, which are priced from £5, jumped 750% over the weekend compared with the Easter weekend in 2010. Meanwhile, sales of girls’ summer dresses, which are priced from £6, rocketed 150%. In a poll of 3,000 mums conducted by Peacocks, 65% said they would reserve their disposable income to spend on their children, while 50% said they had less than £100 left to spend each month after having paid their bills.
