The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) has formally appointed Eric Musgrave as director general at its annual general meeting today.
Musgrave, who is a former editorial director of Drapers, has been director general designate at the UKFT since January.
Musgrave succeeds John Wilson, who will retire at the end of June after 38 years of involvement with the fashion sector’s trade bodies in the various guises they have taken during that time.
Wilson will continue to be involved with the UKFT on a part-time basis as deputy chairman.
Elizabeth Fox, a deputy director and company secretary of UKFT, has also stepped down from her roles, but will continue to serve as executive director of the National Childrenswear Association (NCWA).
At today’s UKFT AGM, Peter Lucas, UKFT chairman also confirmed that the trade body would move from 5 Portland Place, London, to new headquarters, at 3 Queen Square, Bloomsbury, London, in September.
“Our new home will enable us to better serve our members’ interests and to showcase their products in an exciting, modern space. We will have facilities for large and small-scale presentations, as well as networking gatherings and more formal business events,” he said.
