Exclusive: New Look reshuffles online buying team

A third of the positions on New Look’s online buying team could be made redundant as part of a restructure to bring more focus on the retailer’s exclusive product.

Drapers understands that there is a proposed restructure of the online buying department, which will affect the online branded buying team.

Sources close to the situation said four roles have been placed into consultation out of around 12 positions on the online buying team. The roles will either be made redundant or redeployed within the business.

It is understood that the move comes as part of a strategic decision to increase focus on New Look’s core product, as well as it’s Label Lounge offering and exclusive product.

But an insider indicated this was not a move to pull out of existing brands, downsize or reduce headcount in general.

New Look declined to comment.
