Valentino’s collection with high-street retailer Gap will launch in its London flagship store this Saturday.
The seven piece collection, designed by Valentino’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, coincides with the US retailer opening its first Italian stores in Milan and Rome.
The collection will launch at Gap’s Oxford Street flagship and will also go on sale at directional indie Dover Street Market in Mayfair.
The collection is predicted to create hysteria when it opens, as Lanvin’s collection for H&M did when it launched this week.
Key pieces in the Valentino for Gap range include a utilitarian khaki green cotton parka, which is reinvented in three styles - as a jacket with frill detail around the neck, as a multi-frilled long length version and a multi-frilled cropped jacket. Frills and bows will be prevalent across the collection.
Gap Europe president Stephen Sunnucks said: “As we open our first Gap stores in Milan and Rome, we’re thrilled to be welcomed by the house of Valentino, with its unique position in Italy’s fashion heritage and to work with Maria Grazia and Pier Paolo, and their modern, fresh take on women’s style.”
