Jaeger autumn 15
Premium - Westfield Stratford, ground floor
Staff were helpful, offering advice to customers, which is particularly good at this premium level. Although all quite standard styles, the quality and finish is of a high level and more often than not justifies the heftier prices. A super-soft, well-cut camel Crombie (left) is probably worth its £399 price tag, but the store should make more effort to draw attention to appealing elements like quality fabrics that justify the top-end prices (I only discovered this £399 coat was a cashmere and wool blend when I checked online).
Considering the premium level of the clothing and prices, the store is a letdown compared with the sleekness of Reiss or AllSaints. Walls are covered in marks, Sale prices are messily written in marker pen on tacky labels and 80% of the product appears to be on Sale. This store seems to focus on suits and smart coats, and while the Jaeger shopper might be keen on more formal items, the casual offer (including cord trousers and light knits) feels like a boring afterthought.
