High Street Hit or Miss: Kurt Geiger 9/10

Footwear specialist - Westfield Stratford, Ground floor

Pros

While most stores have versions of the major trends, Kurt Geiger really translates these into its own handwriting, with colour block heels, prints, lace-up details, feathers and embellishment – perfect for its customers who want to stand out. Although occasion styles catch the eye, everyday pieces, such as over-the-knee boots, are expensive (£180 upwards) but feel good value for money and wearable for more than one season. The store is relatively small but space is used well, with a showcase at the front and more easily shoppable product at the back. Music is relatively loud and the atmosphere is buzzy enough to get you in the mood for a night out, which is what most styles are designed for.

Cons

Some suede lace-up flat pumps feel a little flimsy for £99. Some of the over-the-knee boots at the front are flopping over as the inner stand isn’t long enough, which looks messy.
