High Street Hit or Miss: Lipsy 6/10

Lipsy autumn 15

Lipsy autumn 15

Young fashion- Westfield Stratford, first floor

Pros

Lipsy is known for its glamorous, party pieces and that is exactly what you get in Westfield Stratford. The young fashion label makes the most of its celebrity tie-ups such as a new range designed with X Factor singer Fleur East (pictured left) at the entrance of the shop. The shop ticks some trend boxes, including the 1970s with cropped polo necks (£28) but remains focused on its core demographic, who are looking for dressier pieces.

Cons

The shop is a shop-in-shop in Next. As a result, it is small and displays are packed closely together, making it difficult to navigate. The decor is quite dark, so it is difficult to see the product properly. There are only a couple of sizes on display and they are all quite small. The prices are more expensive than other high street retailers – for example, a camel coat with fake fur trim is £95 compared with a similar grey version at Next for £75.
