Clothing multiple - Westfield Stratford, First floor

Pros

The women’s footwear department features bells with a sign telling customers to ring for assistance, which was a nice touch. It would have worked well in the footwear departments of other busy multiples Drapers visits that were unstaffed. There is a friendly assistant in both the men’s and women’s departments offering help in any case. As expected, Next’s offer in both the men’s and women’s is broad and competitively priced: costs gently increase with the level of detail, such as ballet pumps at £23, rising to £36 for embellishment on the toe. A men’s brogue for £50 feels substantial and well priced. Next offers half-sizes and selected styles for men are available in a size 5, which is not evident anywhere else during my trip.

Cons

Both departments are easy to navigate, but the shopfit does feel like it hasn’t moved on a lot in recent years. It could be a little more adventurous to help entice new shoppers. Some of the women’s product, especially the overly embellished styles such as the ballet flats, looks quite tacky.
