High Street Hit or Miss: Oasis 7/10

Oasis autumn 15

Oasis autumn 15

Young Fashion- Westfield, Stratford, ground floor

The store’s striking townhouse-inspired window display is imaginative and sets the retailer apart from other stores in the shopping centre. The 1970s theme is prevalent with mini-skirts (black leather at £68) and glittery jumpers (£30) on display. Even the music played in store was from the 1970s. The changing rooms are the best of all we visited: bright, spacious and equipped with a touchscreen where shoppers can browse the Oasis website. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The shop itself is small and cramped, and, as a result, is difficult to navigate. The lack of space means the product can look quite cluttered and untidy. Again, coats and outerwear are at the front of the shop but prices are slightly more expensive than competitors’ with a cream bouclé coat coming in at £98 – £3 more than a better-made version at Topshop.
