High Street Hit or Miss: Pull & Bear 5/10

Pull and Bear autumn 15

Pull & Bear autumn 15

Westfield Stratford, first floor

Pros

A video screen in the store window is eye-catching and allows the retailer to show off various outfits better than using one mannequin. Some pieces, such as a chunky patterned knit (£19.99), a patchwork cable knit (£29.99) and a long fishtail parka (£39.99), balance low prices with a respectable level of quality.

Cons

Other items, however, have less hanger appeal, such as £59.99 for both a camel Crombie coat and a duffle, which are thin and not so appealing. Everything else is fairly standard and similar to elsewhere. Signage and labelling are not the best compared with other retailers. It’s annoying to have to search for swing tags inside garments to find size and price. The denim table is just piles of jeans with no signs for different fits or styles. Lots of product is creased and crumpled, which is very off-putting. Table-top displays feature folded items such as longline T-shirts, which is a shame as customers can’t see the detail when folded.
