High Street Hit or Miss: Quiz 4/10

Quiz autumn 15

Quiz autumn 15

Young fashion, Westfield Stratford, first floor

Pros

The staff are friendly and greet customers as they come into the shop, and are also on hand to assist customers in the changing rooms. Quiz had one of the bigger offers of eveningwear of the shops visited. A floor-length sequined evening dress retails at £70, which is relatively inexpensive compared with cocktail dresses at Topshop priced at £100.

Cons

The shop is dark and very warm. The displays are packed very closely together so it is difficult to navigate around the shop. It is also quite hard to see the product clearly. The right-hand side of the shop is filled with casualwear, including cream and khaki tops, jackets and jeans, and the left-hand side offers cocktail dresses and evening gowns, which might confuse shoppers. Quiz doesn’t seem to have a clear identity. Some of the everydaywear products are more expensive than expected: a camel coat costs £60, compared with one of a similar quality £30 at New Look.
