High Street Hit or Miss: Stradivarius 6/10

Stradivarius autumn 15

Stradivarius autumn 15

Young fashion- Westfield Stratford, first floor

The younger sister of Zara, Stradivarius is very trend led and jam packed full of product. Prices are competitive: jeans start at £20, compared with Topshop’s £36 version, and leather bomber jackets in a variety of colours coming in at £80, compared to one of a similar quality at River Island priced at £120. Shoppers are greeted by two long tables at the entrance filled with a mix of products from jeans to jumpers to necklaces, which is an unusual but effective strategy. The product is arranged according to colour and is easy to navigate.

There is a strong smell of aftershave being pumped out at the entrance of the shop, which is really offputting. The music is too loud and the lights too bright. The staff are very busy and make no effort to engage with shoppers on the floor.
