High Street Hit or Miss: Uniqlo 6/10

Uniqlo autumn 15

Uniqlo autumn 15

Mainstream- Westfield Stratdford, first floor

Pros

Unsurprisingly outerwear is the name of the game at Uniqlo, where a £59.90 lightweight down jacket is placed at the entrance of the shop in a huge variety of colours. Likewise the merino wool jumper at £25 is available in many colours, offering choice to the shopper. The shop is easy to navigate, as the displays are well spaced and similar products are grouped together. The jeans wall at the rear of the store is impressive and very neatly displayed. Uniqlo’s denim prices are competitive and start at £15, which rivals some value retailers. A good range of sizes are on display.

Cons

The product is functional rather than fashionable and there is no evidence of any trends in-store. Uniqlo focuses on casual, classic pieces but both the product and store environment are quite boring compared with other retailers who also provide these basic items.
