Mainstream - Westfield Stratford, first floor

Pros

Uniqlo generally offers a good selection of high-quality, yet competitively priced, wardrobe staples, but in the past has failed to offer much exciting outside of that. This season, it seems to have upped its game with a host of covetable pieces. Soft pure lambswool jumpers (£19.99), extra-fine merino options (£24.90) and lovely 100% cashmere versions (£89.90) show the breadth of the quality basics offer. A camel or check toggle duffle coat (£99.90), a pea coat with chunky anchor-embossed buttons (£89.90) and a lovely cashmere-blend camel Crombie (£129.90) are examples of great value and appealing design. A collaboration collection with fashion week designer Christophe Lemaire (which had almost sold out), including coats, knits and trousers, is another example of the retailer blending its quality focus with a fashion edge.

Cons

While the store is generally neat and tidy, table-top displays and lots of piles of folded items mean some areas can look a little messy, although staff were around, tidying. The changing rooms are cramped and a little claustrophobic.
