High Street Hit or Miss: Warehouse 6/10

Warehouse autumn 15

Warehouse autumn 15

Mainstream- Westfield Stratford, ground floor

The product in Warehouse is on trend with lots of nice standout pieces, including a navy mini-dress with a bronze foil effect print for £68. There is a 1970s theme throughout the range and wrap dresses are priced at a competitive £45. Placards featuring campaign images and large prices above key items are helpful and catch the eyes of shoppers. There is a good selection of basic products that are good quality, including T-shirts that start at a competitive £12.

There is a big Sale sign in the window and the Sale area on the right-hand side of the store looks messy. There are no prices in the window. Some of the pieces were relatively expensive when compared with competitors’. For example, a suede A-line skirt was £55 in Warehouse, whereas New Look has a version of similar quality for £40. Likewise, the retailer has a large collection of coats, including a grey wool cocoon coat for £95, but this is far more expensive than a £55 version from Dorothy Perkins that is of similar quality.
