H&M June like-for-likes rise 3%

Like-for-like sales at fast fashion retailer H&M rose 3% in June as total sales jumped by 13%.

The retailer’s sales improvement mirrors the growth seen in May with like-for-like sales for that month also increasing by 3%.

During the last year the number of H&M stores has grown by 291 with the total number of stores now amounting to 2,596 compared to 2,305 this time last year.

Last month, the Swedish fashion retailer reported better than expected quarterly profits following strong demand for its spring collections.

H&M reported a 23% rise in pre-tax profits to 7.1bn kronor (£648m) for the three months to May 31. H&M’s sales for the period, its second quarter, surged 15% to 31.7bn kronor (£2.9bn).
