H&M sales rise but miss expectations

H&M Group sales rose 11% during February - but missed analyst expectations by several percentage points.

Although the fast fashion group reported strong growth, analysts had forecast a sales rise of between 13.8% and 14%.

Throughout the first quarter revenues rose 12% to SEK 37.52bn (£3.53bn) compared with the same period last year. Over the last year H&M has increased its store portfolio by 374 rising to 3,192 on February 28, 2014.

In January sales across the chain rose 15%.
