House of Fraser is set to appoint advisers to explore plans to float following the Christmas trading period.
The department store group has been interviewing investment bankers and is expected to appoint advisers in the next few weeks, according to The Sunday Times.
It is thought House of Fraser is looking to float after the Christmas trading period and could be valued between £300m and £400m.
It was reported in August that the department store chain was considering floating on the London Stock Exchange in an effort to simplify its complicated ownership structure. It would be the third time HoF has been publicly listed.
