German retailer Karstadt launched its revamped look in its Dusseldorf branch last week.
Spanning four floors, with a retail area of more than 20,000 sq m, the shop houses more than 50 new brands alongside Karstadt’s own labels. Each floor has its own personality with a different palette of colours, textures and graphics.
The German department store chain worked with design consultancy on the new look, which features pop up cubes and pavilions as part of the store fit. The retailer also now boasts a “shoe salon” for its footwear department.
Following on from the Dusseldorf opening the new concept will now be rolled out to Karstadt’s 86 stores. The concept was developed with strategic design consultancy 20:20.
