Internacionale teeters on brink of administration

Value fashion chain Internacionale is the latest retailer to hit the buffers amid tough trading conditions and has filed an intention to point administrators.

According to Drapers’ sister magazine Retail Week, the 150-store retailer is understood to have lined up Ernst & Young as administrator.

Part of the business may be preserved through a pre-pack deal, industry sources said, but as many as 40 stores could shut.

The retailer was previously saved through a sale in 2008 but was revived, athough stores trading under sister brand Au Naturale were ditched.

More follows.
