John Lewis reveals details of pop-up shop

John Lewis has unveiled the details of its first ever pop up shop that will open next month in Exeter and act as a click and collect “hub” for the department store chain.

John Lewis will open a temporary 1,200 sq ft shop for six weeks prior to its mainline department store opening on October 12.

The pop up shop, which opens on September 3, will sell a narrow range across fashion, beauty, consumer electronics and home products.

John Lewis said the shop was designed “in line with its omnichannel strategy”. Orders placed online before 7pm can be collected from the store after 2pm the following day.

John Lewis brand and buying director Peter Ruis said: “This way of launching a new shop really engages with the local community, whilst at the same time goes back to the basics of retailing - finding a site, choosing an edited assortment and presenting it to customers in a creative and unique way.”
