LK Bennett drafts in Westfield digital head

LK Bennett has hired Westfield London digital head Sarah Lukins

as head of ecommerce, following the departure of Kate Smyth after nearly four years with the women’s footwear and fashion retailer.

Lukins, who was head of digital marketing at Westfield for more than three years and worked on Westfield Stratford’s ‘100 Years of East London Style in 100 seconds’ YouTube video, which has attracted 2.8 million-plus views, will have the same remit as Smyth, who held the role of director of ecommerce.

Smyth, who has also held roles at Marks & Spencer and The Carbon Trust, left LK Bennett in July to go travelling.

It is understood Westfield is deciding whether to replace Lukins.

LK Bennett, which is owned by private equity firm Phoenix Equity Partners and chairman Robert Bensoussan, made a pre-tax profit of £5.5m in the year to July 31, 2010, down from £9.6m in 2009.

Sales increased slightly from £67.2m to £69.8m.
