MacCallum makes Harris Tweed exit

Ann MacCallum, the general manager at Harris Tweed’s Carloway Mill on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, has left the business.

MacCallum, who was appointed as the first female boss of a Harris Tweed mill in March 2010, is thought to have stepped down just before Christmas, but the circumstances remain unclear.

A spokeswoman for Harris Tweed confirmed no replacement has been recruited and would not be drawn on a timescale for this.

Meanwhile, Harris Tweed has linked up with boot brand Australia Luxe Collective for an eight-piece autumn 12 capsule collection which features Harris Tweed fabric on the upper.

Styles include the brand’s signature sheepskin boots as well as heeled boots and shoes.

Wholesale prices range from £89 and £149 and the collection will be delivered to stockists from August.
