Spanish fashion chain Mango is to launch a kidswear range for autumn 13 as the retailer plots a plethora of new lines.
The Mango Kids clothing brand is aimed at children aged three to 12.
The collection will include both basic items and more on-trend garments, along with some bestselling products from the womenswear collection adapted for girls.
The range will also comprise accessories, footwear and underwear.
The collection will be sold in around 100 Mango stores and online as well as some indie stores.
Mango Kids already has a team of designers and the retailer will also create a management and purchasing hierarchy for the new line.
The expansion into kidswear is a part of the retailer’s plan for growth, which also includes the launch of a new lingerie and sportwear line called Mango Sport&Intimates. The collection will encompass pieces for fitness, running and yoga and will launch for autumn 13.
This collection will be available 140 Mango stores in countries including the UK, Spain, Turkey, France, Germany, Portugal, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria and will also be available at the retailer’s online store.
Customers will also be able to buy products from the new collection in stores that are equipped with tablet devices.
Mango plans to launch two further lines in 2014; one based on a concept for larger sizes and the other targeting younger customers between the age of 14 to 20.
