US luxury womenswear and accessories retailer Michael Kors has marked Paris Fashion Week by opening its largest store to date in the city, and is planning a second store in London.
The 6,513 square foot Paris store will offer the brand’s Collection and Lifestyle lines but will not stock the menswear range.
The store is the latest in a rapid roll-out for the retailer, which opened a new store on New York’s Madison Avenue in mid-February. It will open a 5,920 square foot London store on Regent Street on March 12.
Michael Kors has a total of 25 new openings planned for 2011, which will bring its portfolio of stores up to 150. The retailer is understood to be seeking sites in Madrid, Rome, Berlin and is also keen to establish the brand in Istanbul, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Last year, it created a subsidiary company in Japan and it now has a boutique in Tokyo and is sold in department stores. It is also planning to break into China and hopes to open 50 stores in the next three years.
