Retailers sign up for Westfield tourist reward card

Retailers including Tommy Hilfiger and Jaeger are set to offer customers up to 30% off as part of Westfield’s Discover London VIP reward card.

The reward card was launched at the Westfield London shopping centre in 2009 and has generated a 20% increase in redemption year-on-year. The card will this week be launched at Westfield’s Stratford shopping centre.

Westfield Stratford has 83 retailers and restaurants signed up to the scheme, which offers visitors up to 30% off purchases at retailers including Tommy Hilfiger and Jaeger.

The cards will be given out to tourists at participating travel operators and trade partners. Westfield said tourism has become an “important commercial driver” and has undertaken research which revealed that more than 20% of all visits are from tourists. Key tourist markets include Brazil, Russia, India, China, the Middle East, Asia, the Far East and Europe.

Myf Ryan, general manager of marketing at Westfield UK, said: “The ‘Discover London’ VIP tourist reward card has seen fantastic results at Westfield London and we are thrilled that retailers at Westfield Stratford City are behind us rolling it out at the centre ahead of the Olympics. We believe it provides tourists an additional benefit and value to visit the centre whilst retailers also view it as a platform to market their stores to tourists who might not be familiar with their brands.”
