River Island footwear team in shake-up

River Island has appointed Barratts Priceless’s Paul Phipps as men’s footwear buyer amid a number of changes to the young fashion chain’s footwear buying team.

Phipps has worked at footwear retailer Barratts since 2003. He will begin his new role in June, River Island said. It is unclear whether Phipps will be replaced at Barratts Priceless.

River Island women’s footwear buyer Laura King and footwear assistant buyer Nicole Boyaram are leaving the business to join Arcadia-owned Dorothy Perkins. A River Island spokeswoman said: “We have a great team in place and are very happy with our footwear range this season.”
