Young fashion chain River Island has joined forces with British designer Georgia Hardinge as part of its Design Forum initiative.
Hardinge has designed a capsule collection for spring 13, with 14 pieces available from the beginning of April.
The collection takes inspiration from Swiss surrealistist painter H.R.Giger with a focus on monochrome prints. Key pieces include a neoprene printed structured dress and a printed maxi skirt with a matching top.
This will be the third collaboration under River Island’s Design Forum Initiative, which aims to highlight up and coming designers. Last season William Tempest collaborated with the high street retailer.
Hardinge said: “Working with a really strong team of people at River Island has been a great experience; it’s so nice to have lots of people to make my designs a reality. It is great to be a part of something so new and I definitely think this is the way forward for the high street, making a luxury product become accessible to all’.
The range will launch with a short film to be shown at the Fash/On Film event at London Fashion Week next month.
