Sainsbury’s looks good with Gok Wan

Sainsbury’s womenswear collaboration with TV presenter Gok Wan launched in stores yesterday.

The Gok for Tu range, comprising 13 styles with prices starting at £20, debuted in 200 stores. Pieces include a kimono (pictured), priced at £30, which displays one of Wan’s signature prints. Sainsbury’s, which is now the seventh-largest clothing retailer in the UK by volume, reported that like-for-like sales excluding petrol for its second quarter to October 1 were up 1.9%. Chief executive Justin King said kidswear was strong, with back-to-school sales up almost 40% on last year.
