Selfridges London will launch an Oxfam pop-up shop this Friday selling clothing donated by celebrities, as well as vintage and high-end pieces.
The Oxfam Curiosity Shop, which will stay open until Thursday May 20, will be stocked and staffed by a team of celebrities and business women including Whistles chief executive Jane Shepherdson and singer Annie Lennox.
Selfridges said it will be the UK’s biggest charity pop-up shop and will house thousands of vintage and celebrity-donated items as well as a selection of the best accessories, homewares, music and books from Oxfam shops around the UK.
Prior to the pop-up shop’s launch, an online auction will begin at 10am on Thursday at www.oxfam.org.uk/curiosityshop. Shoppers will be able to bid for the most desirable items, including pieces donated by models Elle Macpherson and Alexa Chung and the dress that actress Carey Mulligan wore this year to accept her Best Actress award at the BAFTAs.
The pop-up shop will be located in Selfridges London’s Ultralounge, the permanent arts and exhibition venue in the store’s lower ground floor.
Funds raised by the shop will go to support Oxfam’s women’s projects across the world.
