Urban Outfitters readies new Oxford Street store

US lifestyle retailer Urban Outfitters is planning a range of promotions as part of the launch of its new store at the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street.

The American chain is the latest retailer to open a new store at this end of Oxford Street, which has seen a glut of regeneration over the past year.

Both Topshop and Zara threw open the doors to their new stores near Marble Arch at the end of last year, while New Look unveiled a revamped store in November.

The Urban Outfitters store, which opens on February 1, will showcase new design features, with every wall inside the store transparent. The new shop will also sell exclusive brands which are not available in any other Urban Outfitters store.

The retailer is to host an opening party on January 31 complete with free drinks, piñatas and competitions. DJ Tim Sweeney will play at the opening and in the run up to the store opening the retailer is offering free haircuts if shoppers instagram a picture of their bad hairdo.
