New Look, The Circus, Cabot Circus

Continues to offer fantastic value but the customer service could be better

Product 8
New Look has nailed the season’s trends and has a great range of wedges. It offers a retro-inspired interpretation of the style in red and white polka dot and coloured rope trims. A cork-soled 1970s platform is on trend and vulcanised boat shoes offer trend-led options for the younger customer. Yellow wedges, red brogues and a basic leopard-print heel give the offer vibrancy.

Experience 6½
It is great to see New Look has continued with its merchandising technique of displaying footwear throughout the store, which pushes customers towards the footwear department upstairs. However, better signage is needed. Service wasn’t great and Drapers wasn’t attended to. A sales assistant was politely serving another customer. Some footwear littered the floor.

Value 8
Great value is on offer at New Look, as would be expected. Prices seem broadly in line with last spring, with some bright yellow suede Limited Edition courts pushing prices up to £49.99. A rack of ballet pumps in sugary pastel shades sits at the front of the store and prices of £7.99 give Primark a run for its money. An ankle wedge boot in nude and black with cut-out detail is amazing value at £19.99. A wood-sole wedge is fairly priced at £24.99 but it would be better if the wood looked more authentic.
