Ultra-youthful looks abound and the busy store suggests this is a good fit for the city.
With one of the most youthful aesthetics out there, New Look’s offer includes blazers with school crests and grey lip prints, jersey hooded jackets and sequined zebra-stripe dresses. The chain’s new Idol sub-brand is full of ripped denim, slashed jersey and a palette of dark forest shades and grey. Padded and sequined shoulders are here, as are studded leather jackets, houndstooth and sequined shifts, and Versace-inspired zip corsage dresses.
It’s all about the teenager, with moody abstract prints dominating the front of this branch and young shoppers bobbing away to the loud dance music. Further back through the store is a hit of colour, with a rainbow of jersey dress and T-shirt options that may appeal to an older shopper.
New Look’s silver sequined jacket is one of the cheapest on the high street at £40, with a slightly more premium option available in the Idol collection at £60. A gold, pink and blue all-over sequin patterned jersey dress is a steal at £20, as are puff-sleeved bright jersey dresses for just a fiver. All leathers are £120 on the day Drapers is in store, which is great value, although potentially
out of reach for New Look’s younger pocket-money customers.
