Some good stylish product if sometimes a little tacky and overpriced. Service could be improved.
Autumn boots line the left-hand wall, with party shoes on the right. The sequin and embellished heeled sandals look a little cheap for their price tag (£140-plus). There are some interesting sculpted heels on a suede ankle boot, although the faux wood-effect heel lessens the overall effect. Patent-toe courts and some well-finished kitten heels in suede and leather are strong. In line with the customer, product is stylish as opposed to fashionable, but some shoes verge on looking tacky in their finer details.
A bright and airy store with good lighting, but product looks slightly sparse and some items are repeated across the first two fixtures near the entrance. There was no welcome but the assistant approached Drapers after finishing with another customer. The assistant was helpful and complimentary on shoe choice but could have encouraged the sale by explaining refund policy and so on.
A faux-patent court shoe is priced at £95 and a leather alternative at £110 – only £15 difference. Sequined eveningwear shoes look steep at £140, especially as most have leather uppers but are not leather lined, and alternatives can be found across the market for just under the £100 mark.
