Office, 190 Oxford Street

Office usually surprises and excites the customer and could do that more in this store

Product 7

Office’s trainers wall serves up a sweetshop-like burst of colour and texture, exhibiting a great buy and exclusive styles. Trend-led women’s styles line the right-hand side of the store with tribal-style gladiators, denim platforms and wedges. Stock is seasonal, showing that Office is reactive to the weather, but own brand Poste has no less than 15 very similar examples of men’s formal brown lace-ups on display. All the key trends are covered here though.

Experience 5

Staff were attentive and having a good time - laughing, joking and amusing each other. However, a little more attention could have been paid to customers. The store could do with a touch of TLC. It’s essentially a white box, and more product on the shelves along with some vibrant point-of-sale material could lift its appearance.

Value 6½

Fashion-forward styles, including denim and zip-detail platforms and a strong tribal-inspired platform with fringing and contrast stitching top out at about £80. Wedges are about £65 as are tribal-inspired sandals with great trims, while stonewash denim sandals are £50 and studded flat ankle boots £60. These prices are in line with Office’s rivals and offer a good level of fashionability.
