Office, New Broadmead, Union Street, Bristol

Cleverly interpreted trend-driven styles served with a smile in a clean and tidy store

Product 7½
Office is a category killer with a strong selection of ballet pumps, sandals, wedges and mid-height heels with a retro twist. Riding boots and wellies offer customers wet weather options. At the front of the store is a selection of gladiator and Grecian-style sandals, but all have been brought up to date and refreshed with waxy patent finishes in bright colours. Office’s selection of wedges impress, from a chunky rope-soled, suede, peep-toe style to fine examples of the on-trend slim-line wedge in bright suedes.

Experience 8
A clean, tidy, bright and airy store with a good selection of music and polite, informal staff. Drapers was approached by staff a number of times and a sales assistant wrote down a style number so a shoe in a particular colour, which is not stocked in store, could be sourced online. Staff were upbeat and shared the jokes they were having with Drapers, avoiding an intimidating atmosphere.

Value 7½
Office serves up a good spread of prices. Lace-up espadrille pumps in a floral-printed lace finish, and nautical striped uppers for just £15 are winners in the value stakes. Elsewhere the accomplished wedge story ranges from a reasonable £58 to £65 for a cork-soled,
lace-up wedge and a rope-soled, peep-toe wedge respectively.
