Despite being promoted to chief executive from managing director at River Island this year, Richard Bradbury has kept his profile typically low during 2008.
This year the retailer continued to support Graduate Fashion Week and sponsored a charity fashion auction at Christie’s alongside growing its international franchise business. Bradbury’s unfaltering focus on serving trends up with the unique River Island handwriting means the business has suffered less than most. With cash in the bank and a solid proposition, River Island is in a strong position to weather the financial downturn as 2009 dawns.
The retailer appointed corporate PR firm Brunswick to manage increased press interest, so expect to hear more from Bradbury and River Island next year.
