Sainsbury's bags Matthew Williamson designer shopper

Sainsbury’s will launch a Matthew Williamson shopper range instore from February 15.

The British designer, who has collaborated with H&M and already produces a range for Debenhams’ designers range, has come up with a range of brightly coloured banana leaf print shoppers that will be sold for £5 in aid of Sport Relief.

A turquoise bag will be available in 397 stores nationwide from February, while the full range will be available in stores nationwide from March.

The bags will be manufactured by London-based Supreme Creations.

Back in 2007, Anya Hindmarch’s I’m Not A Plastic Bag Sainsbury’s shopper caused frenzied scenes in London, when consumers queued for hours outside the supermarket, selling out within an hour. Sales of the bags on eBay fetched more than £400.
