Sasha goes into liquidation

Irish fashion chain Sasha has gone into liquidation which will result in the closure of its 42 stores and the loss of 300 jobs.

David Carson of Deloitte has been appointed liquidator of the 27 year-old chain’s parent company Denholme. The Sasha chain was reported to have debts of €9.84 million (£8.7m) in October last year.

Denholme went into interim examinership last November as trade at Sasha was hit by the economic downturn.

Deloitte said that conditions at the business had deteriorated considerably since then and that there was no reasonable prospect of survival of the company.
