Congratulations to all winners, and all those shortlisted as well. Well done Draper's for the quick coverage and I like the snap - shot video ! Agreed its really important to have Industry events to celebrate success.

Congratulations to Primark for continued success, consistently performing on strong comparables. It truly focuses on great product, outstanding value and the new shop fits provide a great environment. Many high Streets would be in a worse state of footfall if Primark wasn't there.

Cheap or free parking certainly encourages more trade. Why should people pay around £9 for 2 hours parking in Manchester ( as I recently did) when you can drive to the Trafford Centre instead and park for free ?! Councils need to do more to help retailers and landlords could encourage higher occupancy with smaller, niche retailers by being more flexible. Shopping locally is no longer a consumer's first point of call.

At the moment, thank GOODNESS Primark are still on the high street - one of the few stores ( along with some of the "new" discounters in the health and beauty market) which are generally busy.......One cannot fail to be impressed by their constant positive performance. I recently visited the extended refurbished Manchester Primark - amazing shop fit, bang - on product and great staff. Primark creates a "must buy now" feeling, that could not be easily replicated online when having to wait 1-2 days for a low cost delivery option.
