Selfridges has made two key buying appointments for its womenswear department.
The luxury department store has appointed former Harrods buyer Abigail Rainer to the role of director of women’s accessories and kidswear.
She left Harrods at the end of last year after an approximate eight year stint as director of fashion accessories, fine jewellery and watches, luxury gifts and stationery. She starts next Monday January 9.
Judd Crane joins from Hong Kong department store Lane Crawford in the role of director of womenswear, starting on February 6.
Crane has previously worked at New York retailer, Rodo and French retailer, Stéphane Kelian.
Both will be report to Sebastian Manes, buying and merchandising director, formerly buying director womenswear, accessories and kidswear.
Last year, Selfridges refitted the womenswear floor at its London Oxford Street store. The flagship department store, which spent in excess of £10m on the launch of the 35,000 sq ft Shoe Galleries which opened in October, used architect, Jamie Fobert, to overhaul the remainder of the second floor, which carries women’s designer or bridge brands.
