Stitch reports 18% increase in visitors

Menswear trade show Stitch reported an 18% increase in visitor numbers at the autumn 13 edition of the show compared to last year.

Organisers said overall attendance at the show, which took place at Islington’s Business Design on February 12-13, was up 18% across the two days but that buyer attendance rose by 38%.

Stitch managing director Brian Duffy said: “All visitors were very positive about the look and feel of the show and the collection of brands on offer.”

On February 9 Drapers revealed that from next season Stitch is to relocate to a new venue at the sorting office on London’s New Oxford Street.

The show will also be expanded to house new areas including womenswear and the show will be renamed Stitch London.

“Our principle goals for our new womenswear area is allow our existing brands to include their womenswear collections and also to attract new exhibitors who fit the requirement of a young 16- 25 consumer,” added Duffy.

The spring 14 edition of Stitch will take place on July 23-24.
