The Bangkok Shows

Bangkok’s retail beauties.

Club 21

Three-store Club 21 has stores in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, as well as Bangkok. Offering a well-edited selection of luxury brands with a contemporary slant, the stores are sleek and slick.

4x4 Man

Menswear brand 4x4 Man’s flagship store in CentralWorld shopping centre is a haven of reasonably priced, clean and calm clothes with a subtle dash of dandy. Tailoring is fundamental to what it does, while other key categories include bags and innovative shoe styles.

Unisex independent Uncensored has only been open for two years but has already gathered a loyal following in CentralWorld. The international brand mix is quirky, with Opening Ceremony sitting alongside J JS Lee, Surface to Air, Wood Wood and Trousers London.

The markets

No report on Bangkok retail would be complete without a note on the famous markets. A heady hive of activity, they are invariably hot, full of fakes and general tat but when they’re good, they’re really good. Tongue-in-cheek, trashy T-shirts, chunky jewellery and random finds make them worth the trip.

Siam Center

The Siam Center, along with its sister centres Siam Paragon and Siam Discovery, is an intriguing and inspiring place to shop. Tenants terms dictate that 20% of their stock must be exclusive to just that centre and they must create bespoke shopfits, which all makes for a compelling retail offer.
