The Brandery confirms exhibitors

Lacoste, Pepe Jeans, New Balance and Reebok are among the exhibitors at the first edition of Barcelona streetwear show The Brandery next month.

The Brandery, which was set up by Barcelona City Council, following the departure of leading young fashion fair Bread & Butter to Berlin this season said it had signed up more than 100 brands for its inaugural event, which takes place July 7-9 at Fira Barcelona.

Other confirmed exhibitors include Custo Barcelona, Armand Basi, Desigual, TCN, American Vintage, Rams 23, Etnies, Element and Cruyff Classic.

Show director Pere Camprubí said: “Count on a hundred or so brands in the first edition, and given the current economic climate that’s noteworthy, especially if we keep in mind the quality of the offer, with the presence of the leading Spanish brands in urban fashion and other outstanding European brands who bet on Barcelona as a platform for the sector.”

He added: “Many of those [brands] who will not be able to exhibit in July - almost all for reasons of previously set budgets or schedule conflicts - have expressed the intention of participating in the January 2010 edition. For that reason, we are sure that in July, The Brandery will start a long path towards becoming a point of reference in the European market, with a progressive increase in the number of exhibitors.”

The Brandery is offering free hotel rooms for its exhibitors and their clients across the city as a further incentive to attend the fair.
